NEW CLIENT: GTA Welcomes Lacuna Sports

Get the Affect are proud to announce our appointment as the retained marketing and communications agency for Lacuna Sports, the pioneering brand in women’s cricket wear.

Created by women, for women and girls who are serious about cricket, Lacuna’s mission is to remove the barriers to movement and ambition, so that all sportswomen can walk out onto a pitch feeling confident, comfortable and able to focus on their game, not their kit. Lacuna’s main collection and bespoke team wear are exclusively designed for the proportions of a female figure, whether she’s a size 6 or size 22, so she can confidently play the sport she loves.

The partnership with GTA aims to enhance the visibility of Lacuna Sports at this pivotal time in the brand’s evolution, educating on why inclusive sportwear is a prerequisite not only for performance but also continued participation in the game by women and girls.

Leigh Burns, Founder and CEO of Lacuna Sports, commented, “After five years of research, meticulous design development and organic growth through word of mouth from our happy customers, we are ready to amplify our message.  The response to Lacuna by cricket players and clubs across the country has been overwhelming.  This has fueled our desire to ensure every woman and girl playing cricket can focus on their game because we have their kit covered! We love that GTA share this same passion and desire to keep women playing the sport and together I know we can elevate Lacuna to new heights. Watch this space!”

Nasima Hussain, Founder and Director of Get the Affect, says, “Lacuna fits perfectly with our own firmly held belief that there is a sport for everyone once barriers to participation are removed. In sport there isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ formula and we pride ourselves on helping brands and sports engage new audiences by demonstrating genuine relevance and understanding of their lifestyles and needs. Lacuna is perfectly positioned to help increase participation in cricket by women of all ages and backgrounds and we are excited to help them achieve this.”

Founder Leigh Burns identified the seriousness of the gap in the market from the experiences of her teenage daughter, excelling at cricket yet not properly kitted out to perform at the level she could. Leigh embraced the challenge to fill this gap, launching Lacuna Sports, and in a short period of time, she has seen high engagement of loyal fans from the grassroots level to the professional game.
