British Taekwondo appoints GTA to support three major championships
We’re delighted to announce that GTA has been appointed as marketing communications lead across not one, not two but THREE forthcoming international Taekwondo championship events.
The appointment by British Taekwondo covers the European Championships in May 2022, plus two world level events scheduled for autumn 2022 and winter 2023. All three events, hosted in partnership with UK Sport, Manchester City Council, GB Taekwondo and the European Taekwondo Union and World Taekwondo will take place at the Manchester Regional Arena, Etihad Campus, the home of British Taekwondo.
With a clear focus on driving ticket sales for each event to ensure a full stadium, get the affect’s remit as marketing lead encompasses creation of the ticketing strategy as well creation and delivery of marketing and communications plans to drive awareness of not only the events but also the amazing athletes who will be competing.
The announcement comes hot off the back of Tokyo 2020 and the fantastic performances by our British athletes which saw Olympic Silver medal wins for Lauren Williams and Bradly Sinden, and Paralympic Silver for Beth Munro, with Bronze medals secured by Bianca Walkden and Amy Truesdale. The European Taekwondo Championships Manchester 2022 will be the first major competition since Tokyo and is an important qualifying event for the next Olympics in Paris in 2024. Event organisers aspire to use the athlete stories to inspire others to trial the sport in the future.
Support will be delivered in partnership with digital marketing specialist Stuart Fenton with whom Nasima has worked previously on successful events including the London 2019 World Para Swimming Championships.
Matt Marshall, Event Lead at British Taekwondo said; “Nasima and Stuart were a clear first choice to be our marketing partners for these events given their great track record for supporting sporting events. The UK has an outstanding reputation for delivering world class Taekwondo events so it was important to appoint partners who will help us maintain these high standards and I know they will work tirelessly to ensure we deliver spectacular events for athletes and fans alike.”
