Event marketing & ticketing: strategy development and execution.

Introduction

As marketing communications lead for this Olympic qualifying event, Nasima assumed responsibility for creating a plan to drive awareness and attendance.

Working closely with Point Communications, who handled GB Boxing’s press activity, the objective was to reach and appeal to both the boxing community (traditionally last minute ticket purchasers) and wider London sports fans.

The communications strategy creation took into account a 12 week lead time, all available channels and limited budget to create milestones in the run up to the event

N.B unfortunately this event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 epidemic

How GTA supported

  • Liaison with key event stakeholders including UK Sport, Mayor of London, SEEtickets and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park to maximise awareness via their channels

  • Delivery of a digital marketing plan to reach and appeal to sports fans across the capital

  • Creation of digital and video content for use on the channels of event stakeholders, GB Boxing, England Boxing and the athletes themselves

  • Management of a seat-fill programme, working with London Sport, offering free tickets to London’s senior schools, colleges and community groups
