Communications programme development and execution

Introduction

Nasima played a key role in the launch of Project Rugby, working closely with Premiership Rugby and the RFU to define the communications around this ground breaking initiative to engage under-represented groups  (diverse ethnicity, people with disabled, low socio-economic).

Since then GTA have continued to raise awareness of the programme, supporting Premiership Clubs to get more young people playing.

How GTA supported

  • Development of key message matrix and engagement story for the programme, working with creative agency Matta on the tone and content of the launch video

  • Creation of the communications plan to reach the target audiences via the most relevant channels available

  • Toolkit and asset creation for the Premiership Rugby clubs to promote the programme with one voice

  • Participant case study creation (written and video)

  • Award entry creation and submissions to secure industry recognition

  • Stakeholder and influencer engagement to support the launch

  • Media engagement to secure national and regional coverage

Results achieved

In the first year alone, the programme engaged 13,000 teens from hard to reach groups with 1,000 of these going on to play rugby regularly.

The programme is now engaged close to 100,000 participants

Multiple awards wins most recently including Sport Business Awards 2023
